The Fucking League Charter

CBA

Commissioner Lucas Bowden

An iron-clad agreement is how you keep ten grown men from rewriting the rules after they lose. This is that document. It is not poetry. It is not a suggestion. It is the only reason the pieco has to do standup and the champ cannot trade.

III. League office

Commissioner: Lucas Bowden

Term: Lifetime.

An 8/10 vote is needed to replace him. That is a major change. The replacement must be ready immediately.

IV. Draft

2016 dynasty snake draft. All future drafts are NFL style.

Slow draft. You have 24 hours to make your pick or trade.

The top four picks are a lottery in the offseason. After the third round, owners may fill the rest of the roster off waivers. Waiver priority follows draft position.

Rookies must be on their rosters no later than one week after the rookie draft. Miss that and they sit on waivers. Adding another team’s rookies is a fine.

V. Trading

  • Deadline is the Thursday after week 10. Trades must be submitted and accepted in Sleeper before Thursday night kickoff.
  • You can trade players and draft picks. You cannot trade money, goods, or services.
  • Players are eligible to trade immediately after the previous season ends.
  • All trades should be approved unless someone brings up collusion. To veto, 8/10 must vote to veto.
  • If the commissioner already vetoed a trade and the league votes to uphold it, both sides stick to the original deal as proposed and accepted.

VI. Voting

  • Any member can ask the commissioner for a vote on anything in the league, at any time.
  • The commissioner will acknowledge the request and then hold the vote in The Fucking League text thread. If a vote has been called for, he must hold it.
  • Ordinary business: 6/10.
  • Major changes: 7/10. A major change is anything added or amended in the Empire section, or in Sleeper’s league settings — keepers, scoring, starters, positions, ownership.
  • A 5–5 deadlock is a coin flip.
  • Exception: a vote to replace the commissioner. That stays 8/10.
  • The league may vote on a matter once per season. If it dies, it can come back the next year.

VII. Regions

Regions change every three years. Last update: 2025.

IX. Playoffs

  • Top seeds from each division get a bye in the first week of the playoffs.
  • Top two from each division make it. The last two spots are wild cards: overall record, then head-to-head, then division record, then points scored.
  • If both wild cards come from the same division, the division leader with the better regular-season record is paired with the wild card that has the worse record in that division.
  • Playoffs start after NFL week 14. First two rounds are one game. The championship is one week, head-to-head, NFL week 17.
  • Home team gets 3 extra points.

Pieco bracket

Round robin to determine pieco.

  1. Tiebreaker: head to head.
  2. Then aggregate points for during the playoffs.
  3. Then total points for the entire season, including playoffs.
  4. If it is still tied, a coin flip.

X. League dues

  • $150 entrance fee for the 2026 season.
  • Only 60% has to be in by week 1. The rest is due by week 6.
  • Every game after week 6 with the full $150 still unpaid is a forfeit.
  • Entry fee is negotiable at the start of each new season.
  • Dues can at most double from the previous year unless the raise is unanimous.

XI. League treasurer

Voted on at the annual league meeting. Current treasurer: Morgan Sowell.

Candidates must say they want the job before the vote. The job is collecting dues and fines.

XII. Passing and amending the charter

It takes 8/10 to pass the charter.

After it is passed, 7/10 must approve changes.

XIII. Keepers

  • No requirement on how many players each owner can keep.
  • If you keep the whole team, you do not have to be in the rookie draft.
  • Keepers must be set no later than one hour before the rookie draft. Anyone not kept at that time is dropped to waivers.
  • Failing to set keepers by that time is a fine.

XIV. Bench

16 bench spots. 4 IR spots.

XVI. Pieco

Pieco is the loser of the consolation bracket. Lowest record in the round robin, with total points in those games as the tiebreaker.

Punishment is a public standup routine. Public means a comedy club or other venue. Social media only if there is an extenuating circumstance.

Skip it and you lose one year of picks — a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd — plus a fine of 5× the league buy-in.

XVII. Fines

  • Breaking a pre-established rule of the charter is a $50 fine at the commissioner’s discretion. No appeal.
  • Pay the treasurer within one week of notice. One extra week of grace if you cannot.
  • After the grace period, you forfeit the current week, the prior week, and every week after that until it is paid.

XVIII. The Empire League

  • Half the annual pot is paid out every year. The other half goes in a jackpot, paid once someone wins back-to-back.
  • No trading for the previous year’s champion.

XVIV. The Champions Buy Out Rule

  • Last year’s winner may buy out of the empire pot the following year if the team is not in contention.
  • The buyout must happen by week 4.
  • Buying out means opting out of the empire pot. Win the title after that and you only take the league pot for the year.
  • Buyout is double the league dues.

XVV. Annual Mini-Draft

League members may run a mini-draft in the offseason.

Every team that opts in forfeits all picks and players to the pool, then redrafts in a traditional format.

XVVI. League Meeting Attendance Policy

  • Every member must attend an annual league meeting once every three years. One of those three must be in Macon, GA.
  • Miss three consecutive years and there is a vote to remove that owner.
