Opinion·The board
Four teams are 4–1, and the points are not a tie.
Fuss has 712. Nathan has 656, Holden 622, and Thomas 563. The standings look like a knot.

Thinks Thomas is the most interesting roster in the room.

If you only look at the wins, the top of this league is a four-way tie. Fuss, Nathan, Holden, and Thomas are all 4–1. If you look at the points, it is not a tie at all. Fuss has 712. Nathan has 656. Holden has 622. Thomas has 563. That is a 149-point gap between two teams with the same record, and one of them cannot make a trade.
I still think Nathan’s roster is the one you want in January, because one quiet week does not move Gibbs and Kyren and CeeDee off the top of a rest-of-season board. I also think pretending the month has been even is how you talk yourself into a bad read. Fuss has had the high score four weeks in a row, and the last one was 173. Thomas is 4–1 because Allen showed up on Monday, not because the scoring has kept pace with the record. Holden beat Nathan, which counts, and Bijan has now had two quieter weeks in a row. The wins are the same. The teams are not.
