I’m picking Nathan to win it. He is 4–0, London just got him through the week he was supposed to sweat, and the three weeks before this one were 137, 134, and 143. This one was 130. I have not seen the quiet week yet. Until I do, the trophy is his. Week 5 is Holden, and Bijan just had the kind of night that can embarrass a column. That game can make me look early. It does not change the pick.
The best case against it is Fuss. He just put up 149.94, Shough finally played and was fine, and the backs have been the best room in the league for a month. I like that team, and I’m still fading it for the title, because the quarterback who was a zero on Monday morning is the same quarterback in January. Thomas is the other case. He is 3–1, Walker just had 29.9, and he cannot trade, so the roster he has is the one he will have if he gets there. If he goes back-to-back the dynasty resets. I don’t think he gets through Nathan to do it.
Pieco is not the worst regular-season record. It is the loser of the consolation bracket, the round robin among the four teams that miss, and the punishment is a standup set in public. Lucas is the pick to be that guy. He is 0–4, he has the fewest points in the league, and he just lost by 59 to a quarterback who had 15. Nico had a day. The rest of the card didn’t. Greer is 0–4 too, and he is not the pick. Hurts, McCaffrey, Chase, and Jefferson are a team that scores 69 when it is hurt and a different team when those receivers play. Devyn’s floor has been ugly, and he still has a quarterback who can steal a game in that bracket. Last in a round robin is the roster that is not waiting on two receivers to get healthy.
