Lucas sold Jeanty to the team he plays this week.

Two 2027 firsts came back. His own 2028 second went with the back.

Lucas sent Ashton Jeanty to Morgan on Friday, and the week is not over. They play each other in week 8. Morgan is 4–3. Lucas is 0–7. The back who has been the best skill player on a winless roster is now on the other sideline, if Morgan starts him Sunday. That is the part you notice before you count the picks.

The return is two 2027 firsts. One is Morgan’s. One used to be Greer’s, and Morgan was the one holding it. Going the other way with Jeanty is Lucas’s own 2028 second. There is no other player in the deal. Jeanty has 88 points through seven weeks. The best of those was 27, in week 1. The rest have been a back you can start and not a back who ends an argument. In this league that is still a real piece, because nobody gets a point for a catch and the waiver wire does not grow running backs.

Lucas kept his own 2027 first. That is the one that matters if he stays at the bottom, and he did not put it in the offer. What he took instead are firsts that get worse if the buyers are right. Morgan is in the West race. Greer is 3–4 and just had the high score. If those teams play into the spring, Lucas will have spent a usable back on two picks in the back half of the round. If they don’t, he will have been the one who got paid for admitting 0–7 is the season.

The deadline is still the Thursday after week 10. Thomas cannot be on either end of a call. Everyone else can. This one did not need him. Morgan bought a back while he is still alive. Lucas sold one while he is not. They find out the rest of it against each other.
