Devyn’s way back is a running back, and he has the receivers to go get one.
Miles Quay’s five steps. Burrow stays. One of the other receivers can go.

Devyn’s beat. Start Daniels is the note.

Devyn is at 84.72 with Juwan Johnson still to play, and Holden is at 99 with Bijan doing the same. If Bijan has an ordinary night, this becomes 1–3. That is a hole. It is not a roster that needs to be taken apart. He has Joe Burrow, a pile of receivers, and a backfield that has been ordinary. The plan is to turn one of those receivers into a back before the deadline, and to stop treating every Tuesday like it might save him.
1. You are fixing this year, not donating it.
Ten games remain. The trade window is only the next six, because the deadline is the Thursday after week 10 and the accept has to beat that night’s kickoff. If this week ends 1–3 and he wins four of the six after it, he is 5–5, which is a playoff argument in a six-spot league. The scores before this week were 75, 75, and 95, so the floor has been the issue, not one Sunday. Burrow had 23.72. The quarterback is not why the floor is low, and the 2027 first is already gone, which is why he cannot shop like a team that still has one.
2. Burrow and Higgins are the part you keep.
Higgins had 15.7 and is still tagged questionable with a groin. He stays. Burrow stays. Jayden Daniels is out and on IR, so the quarterback room is Burrow and Bo Nix until that changes. McLaurin is out with a hamstring and is not a trade chip while he cannot play. Jordan Mason is on IR and Rico Dowdle is out. They are not the plan for October. Pretending they are is how the backfield stays ordinary for another month.
3. Metcalf to Hefner, or Nix to Fuss. Not both for a backup.
The 2026 first is with Morgan and the 2027 first is with Nathan. The 2028 first stays. The chip is the receiver room, and Thomas is not a buyer because the champion cannot trade. Hefner is the first call. He has Taylor, Henry, and Judkins, Saquon is out, and A.J. Brown is on IR. Metcalf or Waddle for Judkins is the offer. Higgins is not in it. If Hefner will only move Najee, Devyn should decide whether Najee changes anything before he adds Pittman, and he should not add a pick he cannot spare. Fuss is the second call. He is starting Shough and he has the backs. Nix for Warren or Stevenson is the clean version, because Burrow is the quarterback and Daniels is on IR. If Fuss wants Nix and Metcalf together, the return is Cook or Javonte, not a third name off the bench. Fuss does not have to make that trade. Devyn does not have to make a worse one. Nathan does not need another receiver. That call can wait.
4. Don’t use a good waiver spot on a fifth committee back.
The week’s score is the priority, and then it resets. Chase Brown and Bucky Irving started. Kamara, RJ Harvey, Woody Marks, and Tyjae Spears are already on the bench. Using a high claim on another piece of a committee is how you arrive in November with the same problem and a wasted Tuesday. He claims if a back just inherited a job. Otherwise he holds the roster he has. The wire will not produce a hammer. The trade is the hammer.
5. The deadline tells you whether you are buying or shifting.
Four wins in the next six games, on top of a 1–3, is 5–5. That is a buyer, and the buy is still the receiver for the back, not the 2028 first. Two wins is 3–7, and at 3–7 he still does not trade Burrow. A second receiver can go for a younger back. The 2028 first stays, because he already spent the two in front of it. Either version starts with the same phone call, and it has to be accepted before Thursday night kickoff after week 10.
